APD Clinical Supervision
Dietetics is a complex and nuanced career. It is so meaningful and rewarding, and it can be surprisingly challenging in ways that our training does not prepare us for.
To sit with our clients, to journey alongside them as they explore their experiences of body distress, harmful food stories, shaming and worse, requires sound and steady self regulation.
Supervision is a space that can help you develop these skills to be that reliable port in the storm for your clients without burning yourself out.
Are you new to weight inclusive care or the non-diet approach? Whether you are just starting your career or have been practicing for years, entering the social justice space can be a daunting and bruising experience. Other supervision areas include virtual practice, setting up a solo practice, returning to practice from maternity leave growing (and shrinking) your practice, diversifying your work with non clinical income streams.
Transitioning from weight-centric training to a weight inclusive practice requires time, self reflection, education, supervision, and a safe space to unlearn and relearn.
I can provide the safe, confidential space for you to take risks, be brave, learn and grow in your knowledge and skill. Importantly I regularly participate in my own supervision to ensure I maintain effective practice.
